The eco-friendly font: Ecofont

Thanks to a new font designed by an agency in Holland, Spranq, it is now possible to conserve about 20% more ink when printing. What makes conservation possible with this font Ecofont, is that it has holes in it. So, the ink that was used to fill those holes are now conserved, it is now possible to conserve about one to five proportion of ink.

Google optimized its search engine for Android and iPhone

Google has announced in 18th December, that Google Search Engine has been optimized for mobile phones with Android operating system and iPhone. As a result of this optimization, users will be able to get more accurate search results. It has been also stated that the results page will load faster and fit the screen in the integrated browser of Android and iPhone’s Safari.

Other than these, Google has also pointed out that touchscreen-friendly buttons have been placed in the search options, and these optimized search results were only available in Androids with American English and iPhones and iPod Touchs with 2.x update installed.

Google Chrome is “Beta” no more

Google’s browser Chrome was in “Beta” status for some time now. Google has decided to lift the Beta indication from Chrome. Behind this decision lies these thoughts: There are no concerns of stability problems that will require the software to be in Beta, and in applications that are nested one within the other with the Web have evolved the conception of Beta. Mostly though, I think that Google is trying to satisfy the users who complain that Google products spend too much time in Beta status.

Chrome is being updated constantly without any distinctive version numbers. You can still see the build number and the browser’s permanent system component regularly checks Google for updates. This update check is automatic if you do not have any firewalls running, but if you do have one and you have gone through for some restrictions to Chrome’s Internet access then you can become aware of these regular checks.
