There is no end to the news related to iPhone. While most are only rumors, we have to accept that most of these do represent possible scenarios. The new rumor about iPhone is that we might see new models with multi-core support. It is said that with Apple updating the iPhone firmware in near future, it might be possible that it will support multiple processors. According to ZDNet website, with the new 3.0 firmware update, this scenario will be probable. As can be foreseen, iPhone will quite surely dominate the mobile market with this move. Furthermore, an iPhone with multiple cores may change market shares not only in the mobile market, but also in the gaming consoles market too.
The processor that iPhone will prefer in a situation like this is, with its power management capabilities better than Intel’s Atom, a derivative of ARM Cortex A9 processor.
Like we said before, we don’t have any other solid data other than those said on Macworld 2009, but looking at it as the reasonable rumor it is, we can presume that where there is smoke, there is fire. Let us see what the upcoming days will show us.
